Harold Weinstock, Founding Partner, Dies on December 1, 2014

Weinstock Manion is deeply saddened to announce the death of founding partner Harold Weinstock on December 1, 2014. He was 89. Harold Weinstock was a pioneer in the field of estate planning, writing numerous articles, teaching a well-known estate planning course at UCLA Extension for almost 25 years and authoring Planning an Estate: A Guidebook of Principles and Techniques, which was one of the first and most widely used textbooks on estate planning.

“Hal Weinstock was a visionary who helped transform estate planning as a legal specialty,” commented Sussan Shore, managing director of Weinstock Manion. “Hal respected the gravity of a client’s family dynamics and focused on understanding this clients’ concerns. He brought heart to the relationships he developed with his clients, which allowed him to create plans that stayed true to the client’s intent. Not only was Hal a brilliant attorney, he was a man of the highest integrity, a kind mentor, caring employer and good friend to his colleagues. Although Hal retired in 2000, our firm remains inspired by his dedication to excellence and commitment to clients, families and employees. It is with great pride that our firm continues to perpetuate his legacy for the next 50 years and beyond.”
