Jonathan Forster Speaks To TheHourGLASS Podcast On Estate Planning Amidst A Divorce
Jonathan Forster was recently a guest on TheHourGLASS, a podcast dedicated to exploring various stages of the divorce process. During the segment, Jonathan examined several legal documents that may need to be revisited during a divorce, including general durable power of attorney, living wills, and trusts, and the different considerations that go into who should now be included in place of your ex-spouse.
During a divorce an estate plan will need to start fresh to best reflect your wishes, Jonathan explains, “Presumably, you have been providing for your spouse in your estate plan documents– your spouse is the beneficiary if you were to pass away, your spouse is making all of your important decisions if you can’t make them for yourself– and once you are going through a divorce you probably don’t want your spouse handling those roles anymore.”
