Neil Solarz Quoted in U.S. News & World Report Article “Everything You Need to Know About Probate”

Neil Solarz was recently quoted in Susannah Snider’s U.S. News & World Report article “Everything You need to Know About Probate.” The article details what probate is, as well as details like how it works, how long it takes, and how much it costs. Susannah also covers if going through the process is “bad” and how to avoid probate.

Neil helps define probate in a legal context: “Probate is a court-supervised proceeding to take control of a decedent – or dead person’s – assets.”

Neil later speaks about the length of the probate process. “Solarz, who is familiar with California estate law, says that the simplest probate proceedings take somewhere between seven and 12 months.”

Finally, Neil explains the cost of probate. “These will vary depending on the size of the estate and location of the probate. California is a state in which the fee is set by statute.”
